How to Elevate an Entire Destination, Not Just Its Newest Park
Client: Universal Orlando Resort, Internal Communications
Initiative: Making Every Day Epic
Services: Brand identity, tagline development, internal campaign strategy, merchandise and applied identity design
The Situation: Universal Orlando Resort was building Epic Universe, an entirely new park meant to set a new bar for the industry. At the same time, the company was investing heavily into upgrading its existing parks and back-of-house Team Member spaces, some of which had been open for 20 or 30-plus years. Internal Communications needed one campaign that could rally the whole organization around both efforts at once, so the elevation felt like a single company-wide lift, not something happening at one property while everyone else waited their turn.
The Work: Nomad Flamingo built Making Every Day Epic, a brand and internal rallying cry that worked the same way whether someone showed up to help build Epic Universe or run a ride that had been open for decades. We developed the name, logo, and full identity, then extended it across the things Team Members actually touch: stickers, tote bags, lanyards, water bottles, and badge reels so the message could travel with people instead of just living on a poster in a break room.
The Shift: Whether someone worked at brand-new Epic Universe or one of the resort’s original parks, they carried the same reminder they were part of one company moving forward together. Making Every Day Epic gave everyone, across every property, a shared way to talk about the same elevated standard, guests and Team Members alike, no matter which gate they worked behind.
